After watching the first two episodes of Bravo’s NEWEST series Odd Mom Out, I’ve come to the conclusion that I am definitely THE odd mom out. I do my best to fit in without losing myself or my individuality, but sometimes that task is not so easy. Jill, the lead character of Odd Mom Out, experiences just that. She lives in the Upper East Side of Manhattan in NYC, her kids go to an uppity school, and her sister-in-law and mother-in-law are what she dubs “mom-bots”, which I whole-heartedly agree.
While it’s great that some moms are wealthy, it’s not necessary to flaunt it every time you bat your $1,000 eyelash extensions…but it’s downright rude and vicious to look down on other’s just because your paycheck has a couple more zeros than their’s. I’m a young, single mom…so that makes me the odd mom out whenever I drop my kiddo off at school. Everybody looks so put together, and here I am in a baggy t-shirt, yoga pants and a beanie. If I were to dress up and apply make up every single morning, I would go stir crazy. I appreciate comfort over style.
Jill is absolutely hilarious during her struggles to interact with the “elite”. The opening scene reminds me of myself. I like tattoos, I like underwear dance parties, and I like bad words. Honestly, I’d rather my daughter mention that than my material possessions.
Watch the trailer to find out why this will be the newest show that I obsess over!
