With so much available to do at Disney World and so little time to do it all in, you might be wondering if there are any attractions, shows or activities worth skipping. Unfortunately, there are only a certain number of hours in a day, and it’s impossible to accomplish everything in just one day. Even if you were to dedicate an entire day solely on one park, there would STILL be things you couldn’t fit into your schedule. That’s the nature of the beast that is Disney World!
Luckily, there are things that you can bypass that will save time that you can spend on something else. While I personally feel like 99% of the attractions and activities offered at WDW are wonderfully designed, I can acknowledge that there are certain ones that might miss the mark for a lot of families. Some are deemed boring, while others simply take up a large chunk of valuable time. Keep in mind, that this list is JUST my opinion. What I find boring might be the highlight of someone’s park day!
Here are FIVE of the biggest time wasters at Disney World:
1. Hall of Presidents @ Liberty Square, Magic Kingdom
Unless you are a history buff, Hall of Presidents is one show that you can walk past and not feel like you’re missing out. Hall of Presidents has been in operation since Disney World’s opening day in October 1971. While I appreciate the classics at WDW, this is one that I never make it a mission to see. With a duration of 25 minutes, that’s a half-hour that I’d rather spend at Carousel of Progress (that’s right, folks. COP is NOT going to be on this list). My grandfather watches it every single time we go, so it may be right up for family’s alley. If your family’s WDW vacation is during the school year and you’re searching for an educational attraction, then you might want to consider this
snooze fest attraction.

2. The America Adventure @ America Pavilion, Epcot
I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking I despise American history. That’s not the case. If it’s a particularly hot day, and you’re needing a break from the sun, The America Adventure is an excellent option, as the A/C inside works very well! This show is a whopper when it comes to it’s length at over 28 minutes long. It’s another show that I refuse to waste time on unless I’m desperate for shade and air. Like with Hall of Presidents, it’s a great educational show for the kids to watch, but it’s not and will never be considered a must-do on my list.
3. Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival @ Future World, Epcot
I don’t dislike this attraction. I actually like it! However, it’s not something I have to do each and every time I visit. It’s a 4D theater attraction with other effects, like vibrating seats, that are a bit exciting. They show three different shorts with run time of 18 minutes total. Regardless, there are other attractions at Epcot that I’d prefer to do, but it’s a good sit-down attraction with A/C that’s kid-friendly.
4. It’s Tough to Be a Bug @ Discovery Island, Animal Kingdom
This show isn’t even worth the 9 minutes of A/C and shade. It’s outdated and in major need of a massive overhaul. If I were an Imagineer, I’d change it to be The Good Dinosaur themed, which would mesh well with the already existing Dinoland in the same park.
5. Journey Into Imagination with Figment @ Future World, Epcot
Okay, this one may be controversial, but hear me out. I’m a die hard fan of the original Figment and Dreamfinder (who was replaced by Dr.Nigel Channing). Disney doesn’t usually make attractions worse, but they managed to do that to poor Figment. I strongly encourage yáll to watch the old ride via YouTube. This isn’t a huge time-waster since the ride is only 6 minutes in length. You’ll hardly ever see the ride with a queue that’s over 5 minutes long either. But Epcot is chock full of amazing experiences that even 10 minutes is too much to be wasted.
If you’ve been to Disney World, what attraction would you pass on in the future?
