Christmas is here. Yes…to me, December = Christmas. I can’t believe that we’re already celebrating another Christmas. The years seem to be flying by at a pace faster than I can keep up. This is our first NYC Christmas, and that makes the holiday season even more special. Part of me misses having a Southern Christmas, but the other part of me is having a blast immersing myself in the New Yorker way of having a holly jolly Christmas. The streets are filled with my favorite Christmas carols, like Silent Night and Away in a Manger. Even in small town Bartlett, Tennessee, I never heard Christmas carols through speakers on every street corner. It’s the little things that bring a smile to my face.
We still haven’t met the fat man, but I’m hoping we manage to hike over to the mall tomorrow or Thursday. Bella hasn’t even mentioned seeing him, plus we’ve all been sick the entire month of December. It’s been tough! Thank God for Amazon Prime! I haven’t bought a thing from a brick & mortar store at all this month. It’s actually kinda nice.
We attempted made (read: failed at making) a Shopkins gingerbread house today. There are no pictures, and I’m glad. I got all confuzzled with the instructions, and the icing wouldn’t stick. It was a disaster and a half. Regardless, Bella and I had fun making memories. The best part of it all was devouring the entire tube of pink frosting. Bella showed the affects of high amounts of sugar almost instantly. YOLO! (Please don’t kill me for saying that -_-)
I’ll be posting what Bella got for Christmas in another post this weekend or early next week. Let’s just say…it’s going to a very Shopkins Christmas. Did you know Moose just released season 4?! I just bought a few packs on ToysRUs.com. And guess what? — Dennis found a season 4 Shopkins blind basket on the ground right outside of the dollar store earlier tonight!! What?! HE is the real MVP! We already opened it, and our first season 4’s are Pancake Jake and Prickles! I’m overly excited about the new Petkins!
