May 2015 Disney World Vacation: Day One – Epcot [Part One]

I just returned home from my Disney World/Universal Studios vacation on Sunday, and I can’t wait to share my experience with y’all! When I originally booked this vacation, we were only going to do Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Unfortunately, during my last trip in September, I didn’t get my money’s worth on our Epcot day due to extremely sore feet and legs. It got to the point where I couldn’t even fit my feet into my shoes. Since I didn’t get to fully experience Epcot (during that trip anyways), I wanted to add on Epcot…but at the BEGINNING. All of the parks involve insane amounts of walking, but I feel the most exhausted after a day at Epcot, especially if I walk around World Showcase.

We stayed at Seralago the night we got into Orlando, but stayed at Art of Animation during the Disney part of our amazing vacation. We didn’t even visit the rooms before heading off to Epcot.

Pretty much as soon as you get into the parking lot, you see the big giant golf ball. Spaceship Earth is a masterpiece within itself. Of course, when you think of Disney World, you think of Cinderella’s Castle…but what next? Most people would answer with Spaceship Earth (or the big golf ball haha). We’ll go back to SE a little bit later.

In the morning, lines for every ride was L-O-N-G. The Seas with Nemo & Friends even had a 30 minute wait! I have always gotten right on, but I took this opportunity to take photos I wouldn’t have otherwise captured…

Righteous, dude!

Fish are friends. Not food.

Mine! Mine Mine!

Welcome to Coral Caves Beach!

I purchased my Canon Rebel t3i in January, and I was so excited to use it on my vacation, particularly to take ride photos/videos. I’m a total novice, so I didn’t expect The Seas with Nemo & Friends to be so difficult to photograph! However, I believe this one is decent, and it’s actually my favorite scene of the ride.

After we got off of the ride, we took advantage of our Memory Maker add-on and had the photographer snap some shots in front of Marlin and Dory.

We then headed to Mission Space to use our first Fast Pass of the trip!

Since Bella is too short, my mom and I had to take turns. I have come to the conclusion that as you get older, Mission Space becomes a lot more intense. A lot of people get nauseous…like the guy sitting next to me. Ew. While I didn’t puke into a bag, I did get dizzy, which is sad because Mission Space was once one of my favorite rides.

Our next Fast Pass was for Spaceship Earth! We had a little time to kill, so I decided to head into the camera shop and snag me a Mickey Mouse camera strap. It is SO much cuter than the boring one Canon sends you.

As you can see from the photo above, Bella was really excited to FINALLY be back at Disney World! I don’t blame her!

Stay tuned for part two where we have lunch with royalty, have a laugh with a street rat, and even fly over California!

I’m surprised you got a fastpass for spaceship earth…it’s always been one of the shortest lines in my experience. Has it increades in popularity recently?

On the day that we went, all of the lines were really long. Spaceship Earth was an hour wait ๐Ÿ™
