About Little Pim
“Little Pim was created in 2006 by Julia Pimsleur Levine, a mom who grew up bilingual and was looking for fun ways to introduce her young son to the French language. When she discovered there were no high quality videos/DVDs for teaching toddlers a foreign language, she decided to create them herself— something for which she was uniquely qualified as a filmmaker, language teacher, and mother. Pimsleur Levine was inspired in part by having grown up in the language teaching business. Her father, Dr. Paul Pimsleur, created one of the most popular and acclaimed audio teaching language methods for adults.“
I received Little Pim’s Spanish For Kids ‘Wake Up Smiling” DVD. This is the second DVD out of the set. I am very interested in having my daughter learn a second language. When children are young, their minds are like a sponge. I never understood why I had to wait til I was in high school to take a foreign language course. While I made great grades and was in German honors, I believe it would have been easier to memorize the words, phrases and grammar if I were younger. I was excited to try Little Pim out because not only will my daughter learn Spanish, it will aide me in brushing up my Spanish.
Little Pim is an adorable animated panda bear. He teaches children throughout the whole series. This DVD series is specifically designed for young children ages 0-5. It provides the basic building blocks for foreign language.
Isabella is 21 months and doesn’t have a wide vocabulary, but I was not afraid to introduce the Spanish language to her. Who knows? Maybe Spanish will be easier for her to learn than English 😛
The Wake Up Smiling DVD shows Little Pim and kids waking up, brushing up and dressing up. It is all about the joys of waking up to a new day and going to sleep at the end of the day.

I can’t wait til purchase the other two DVDs in the set! My daughter was so interested in the DVD. I was so sad that it was only 35 minutes long. Even I was getting REALLY into it. I have faith that Isabella will be speaking hundreds of Spanish words by the time she is five.
