In September of last year, I moved to New York City from Memphis, Tennessee. The two cities couldn’t be more different, especially when it comes to weather. I was not mentally prepared for the wind chill and how it would make my face and neck blistering numb. If you were to slap me, I wouldn’t have felt it. Leaving the house is sometimes like walking straight into a meat locker or a morgue. I’m always in need of a warm beverage to keep me and Bella toasty during the frosty months. A beverage like hot chocolate using nothing but TruMoo chocolate milk!!
We love TruMoo no matter how he’s prepared, but have you tried tried it hot? All you need to do is pour it into a mug and pop it into the microwave for approximately 30 seconds. Bella loves to help prepare meals and snacks with me in the kitchen. She is a hands-on learner and having her be my little helper in the kitchen is perfect for her noggin.
She poured the carton of TruMoo chocolate milk into a red mug just for her. After I assisted her in popping the mug into the microwave, she sprinkled a few (okay…QUITE a few) marshmallows on top. This is the ultimate winter time beverage that warms you up in lightning speed!
Bella felt proud of her recent creation and couldn’t wait to guzzle it down! We’ve been very mindful of turning the heat on due to the crazy high bills, so this delectable warming treat is just right for when the heat needs to stay off regardless of the temperature outside.
Bella and I also concocted another satisfying concoction that’ll be sure to have you thinking of higher temperatures. We made a kid-friendly white chocolate hot latte that is super easy to make with your children, and it’s a drink that they’ll actually like!
We mixed 2 1/2 cups of TruMoo chocolate milk with 1 tablespoon of heavy cream in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bella was able to complete all steps, besides measuring out the heavy cream. We let the mixture heat until it became frothy.
After the mixture comes to a froth, we took it off the heat and stirred in 1/8th of a teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of white sugar. We then poured the latte mixture into two glasses and whisked together white chocolate chips and brewed espresso (totally optional for the kiddos) until smooth.
White Chocolate Hot Latte is the perfect way to warm up on chilly days and also get the nutrition that TruMoo provides!
Bella was quick to give her creation a sip. This was the first time she has had any type of coffee product. Although espresso is optional, Bella didn’t even mention tasting it. She gave it two thumbs up!!
