The Holidays are here!! It’s time to start thinking about holiday parties, if you haven’t already. Throwing a holiday shindig is a great way to bond with your friends and family, all while enjoying yummy food, exquisite decor, and festive music. What are some of your best holiday entertaining tips? Below are a few of mine:
1. Don’t invite too many people – Unless your house is huge, nobody wants to attend a party where they are literally rubbing elbows with each other. I know when I go to a get-together, I prefer to have personal space. Have you ever attended a holiday party and the line for the food is all the way out the door? I have. By the time you fill up your plate, all of your favorite dishes are diminished.
2. Use your nice dishes and cookware – That doesn’t mean bringing out the Fine China. Simply using solid-color (preferably white or Christmas colors) works splendidly. White cookware compliments the surrounding red and green colors, and your guests’ eyes will gravitate towards them and want to chow down on everything they can get their fingers on.
3. Consider the children – At all of the holiday parties that I’ve thrown or attended in the past, there are always small children lurking and running about. Instead of thinking of them like a burden, make them feel like a special part of the party. You can do this by including a sugar cookie decorating station or use white butcher paper over the kids’ table for them to color on.
Need a good laugh? Then the above video is what you need in your life. Glee’s Jane Lynch and Matthew Morrison created a spoof of the traditional “12 Days of Christmas” titled “12 Stinks of Christmas“. If you know all about the holiday stinks, then you should watch this video and stay tuned to this post to find out how to eliminate those annoying odors.
When in doubt, Febreze is always the answer to stopping pesky odors in their tracks!
Febreze Air Effects in Jolly Pine and Cranberry Cheer add the perfect about of traditional holiday aromas, while tackling the traditional, but not welcomed, holiday odors.
Dennis prefers the Jolly Pine scent, but I’m on Team Cranberry Cheer! Either will do when you need to freshen up your holiday party space!
One of the 12 Stinks of Christmas is “12 Teens-A-Gaming”. Even though I don’t have a teen, I do have a boyfriend that games a lot. Just spray on Febreze Cranberry Cheer fabric refresher to make the couch smelling like a Winter Wonderland!
If you’re expecting a lot of guests and only have one bathroom (like us), you’re going to need a safety net…like this handy dandy Febreze Jolly Pine candle! This will help your bathroom not smell like “11 Guests, One Bathroom”, one of the 12 Stinks of Christmas.
