Cheap, knockoff deodorant is all we purchase around here. I always assumed that all deodorants and antiperspirants were the same. Sure, you have roll-ons and powder, but they all help you achieve the exact results. Boy, was I wrong!
As a Purex Insider, I am sent various products to test out during my every day, normal life. Believe it or not, I get to review more than just laundry detergent and fabric softeners! Purex Insiders kindly asked me to review Dry Idea Advanced Dry deodorant in Powder Fresh. Oh, the scent was lovely. Not too overpowering like I first expected. It’s enough to make you smell heavenly without overloading your olfactory nerves.
Dry Idea states that it will grant you 24 hours of stink-free protection. I was a little apprehensive and skeptical, so I stayed inside during those 24 hours…just to be on the safe side. I mean, if I started to smell, I did NOT want my friends to get a whiff of it! Of course, approximately 10 hours of those 24 I was asleep…so it was actually a 14 hour test.
I first applied Dry Idea deodorant to my underarms after Isabella decided to wake me up. Running after and taking care of a 2-year old is no joke. It’s a workout all in itself! Usually, I don’t even bother with deodorant when I’m home alone. I take a shower and put on some delightful perfume, and I’m done. My mind might have been changed during my try-out period!
Deciding to lift my arm and directly smell my pits, I noticed that they remained smelling like powder. Not even a hint of body odor managed to seep through the protective barrier that was Dry Idea.
I refuse to wear sleeveless shirts and dresses, as I am quite self-conscious about my arms. I don’t even own any, so it was impossible for me to see if they left any noticeable remnants on my clothes. If I did wear sleeveless shirts, I would feel so embarrassed if I saw white marks on my clothing. However, I did take off my shirt at the end of the night and saw that there was white stuff where my pits had been. Hey, I’m wearing sleeves! As long as I’m smelling good and nobody else can see the remnants being left behind, I really really do not care!
To my chagrin, deodorants normally make my underarms itchy and irritable. Thankfully, Dry Idea has made their deodorant hypo-allergenic, and it even contains vitamin E to help soothe my skin from further irritation.
