Although I have a meat-eating and meat-loving household, we still aim to prepare and consume healthy dishes that nourish our bodies, as well as appeal to our taste buds. This isn’t always easy with children, especially one that’s a picky eater like Bella, my 7-year old.

I couldn’t wait to start creating kid-friendly recipes using all of our goodies we received from ButcherBox! Twice a week, I will be featuring a recipe using ButcherBox meats. Using ButcherBox grass-fed ground beef, the first recipe on our agenda is Baked Spaghetti!
Boil spaghetti noodles in a pot of water. While that’s taking place, brown 1lb of ground beef. You can chop it finely, or you can leave it chunky, like we prefer.
After the noodles are cooked and the ground beef is browned, place inside of a baking dish. Pour two cans of pasta sauce and a can of diced tomatoes. Season with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, seasoned salt and black pepper. Once you’ve applied aluminum foil over the top, bake in the oven at 400 degrees for approximately 10-15 minutes. Take it out, and layer mozzarella cheese on top. Put it back in the oven for 20 minutes. You can let it stay in there longer if you prefer your cheese to be crustier and more ‘burnt’.
- 1lb ButcherBox ground beef
- Spaghetti noodles
- 2 cans of pasta sauce
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
- Italian seasoning
- Garlic powder
- Seasoned salt
- Mozzarella cheese
- While boiling spaghetti noodles in a pot of water, brown the ground beef.
- Place inside of a baking dish, and pour pasta sauce and diced tomatoes.
- Mix well.
- Season with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, seasoned salt and black pepper.
- After covering the baking dish with aluminum foil, bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 400 degrees.
- Take it out of the oven, and layer mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake for another 20 minutes minimum.
- Remove from oven and let cool.
