5 Reasons Why I Recommend Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Staying at a resort on Disney property isn’t like anything else. It’s like being teleported to another world…a world that only exists in our favorite fairy tales and stories. One of my favorite Disney resorts is actually (technically) a value resort – Art of Animation

While all of the resorts on Disney property add a magical touch to your vacation, no other resort does that quite as magnificently as Art of Animation. Here are five reasons why I strongly recommend staying here:

1. Theming – Art of Animation sets the bar high when it comes to theming. The resort is split into four themed areas – The Little Mermaid (standard rooms) and Finding Nemo, The Lion King and Cars (family suites).

We stayed in the Little Mermaid area since we only had two adults and one child in our party. While I would’ve loved to have stayed in the Lion King area since that’s my all-time favorite movie, Bella was in awe of everything. She’s a huge Little Mermaid fan, and her eyes got super wide when she saw all the statues and decor. I would recommend an off-day from the parks so you can tour the resort grounds and even take a tip in the Big Blue Pool!

2. Price – Art of Animation is one of the more affordable resorts, although I would no longer categorize it as a value resort. I consider it a reasonably priced moderate resort. For what you get out of a Disney resort, I believe that the price is worth every penny.

3. Buses – Art of Animation has it’s very own bus! It does not share with Pop Century, and the All-Stars share a bus system, which can get pretty crowded and hectic. We don’t use Disney transportation as we always travel via car, but if we did, this would be a ginormous reason to stay at Art of Animation!

4. The Pools and Playgrounds – Art of Animation houses three extravagantly themed pools – the Big Blue Pool, which is the main pool and Finding Nemo themed, and two quieter pools, the Flippin’ Fins Little Mermaid Pool and the Cozy Cone Cars Pool.

Additionally, Art of Animation has the Righteous Reef Playground and the Schoolyard Sprayground located in the Finding Nemo Area, along with The Boneyard playground located in the Lion King area and the Pixel Play Arcade located in Animation Hall.

5. Ink and Paint Shop – One of my favorite things to do while on a Disney vacation is SHOP. Art of Animation has a super cool gift shop called the Ink and Paint Shop. It is themed like an animation studio, and has all kinds of souvenirs that your family is sure to love. They even have a character artist that does custom sketches!
