Five Animated TV Shows That Sculpted My Childhood

My age is probably going to show in this post. I grew up in the 90’s and early 2000’s, and I believe that some of the best (although not educational in the least bit) came from the 90’s.

Powerpuff Girls

Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup were often seen on a TV screen in my household. This show, in my opinion, was the most original.

Sailor Moon

Obsession would be an understatement. I had EVERYTHING Sailor Moon. I wanted to be Serena so friggin’ bad. I wanted her hair, her cute little clothes, her everything. I know…I know. Obsessing over an anime character is a bit nutty. Hey, I was 12! Gimme a break.

Yes, I was one of those kids. I went to the Pokemon leagues, I won badges, and I was one badge away from being a League Leader before they shut the program down. My favorite Pokemon were Pikachu (of course), Meowth and Nine Tails.

Spongebob Squarepants

Even though I was 8 years old when Spongebob first aired, I have watched every single episode. Spongebob, Squidward, Patrick, Sandy Cheeks and Mr.Krabs provided a huge number of laughs. Now that I am older, I realize how many of the jokes went over my head. The sexual and drug references are a bit overwhelming now.

Space Ghost – Coast to Coast

Space Ghost is one of those shows that I shouldn’t have watched as a kid, but did. It formed me into the odd human being that I am now. Who could forget his interview with Hulk Hogan? It was like a train wreck, but I couldn’t take my eyes off of the screen. Yes, Space Ghost, I AM getting enough O2! 😉
